HaPpY TeAcHeRs' Day!
Seems like Teachers' Day Celebrations at our alma maters have always been much more captivating than that in JC. =) Wonders why. It's basically quite impossible to keep apprehensive hearts from escaping out to somewhere else, beyond the guarded doors of the auditorium. ;) Nevertheless, while being confined there, the fashion parade and teachers' acts were rather entertaining. *chuckles* Especially Ms Ong's sambal look..lol. Ms Yang's much toned-down rugged voice and seeing some teachers in Hwa Chong uniforms. Ironically, it was difficult to differentiate them from normal students! =) Wonders how Mr Ng feels while watching his "Barney Video" being captured on-screen. Quite interesting to watch the apple anecdotes on various faculties. Haha..S7 will actually mull over the mechanisms on relative velocity, Arts with some creative poems on the apple, S6 simply crunching on the apple and walking away! (forgot S3's analogy though). Yep..on the whole it's actually quite a commendable effort by the organizing committee. Think the 2 emcees were really lame..haha, complimenting the coldness in the auditorium.
Although yearly Anderson's Hall would be infested with swarms of ex-students, with the whole Hall getting stuffy and stuff like that, there is always this mutual willingness, bonds and spirit within us just to rush back and catch the last few performances, probably. Some even skipped school just to come back and see the teachers. =D
Glad to see Mdm Wong, Mrs Wong, Mrs Ashari and many other endearing teachers back in Anderson! =) Hope Mrs Wong has a happy retirement at the year end. Anyway, great catching up with friends too. Cheerios!

HeyaZ!
A pretty interesting day out for PW interview with Dr. Tay from Alexandra Hospital. His "evasiveness" on many controversial issues have led us to conclude that professionals are afraid of being quoted out of context which in turn may jeopardize their reputation. =) Anyway, we asked him on relevant questions on the trend of more Singaporeans consuming slimming pills and he blabbered on about obesity in some other countries. Not much link is there. -lolx- When asked for his personal opinions he kept referring us to some Norway Publications in which we wouldn't be able to gain excess to. Sigh. I can empathise with his position though. But towards the end he did provide some useful insight though. Education is the OnLy way to curb ignorance. Hmm..that's very obvious, isn't it. "Singaporeans ain't thinking and asking" That's what he says. Nevertheless, he's a very affable person who was willing to spend some 1h of his time sharing his knowledge with a group of students who were out to fire press-like questions from him. =P I felt rather sorry at the end when I realised that the video-camera I was holding onto seemed quite intimidating. Oops! ^_^ Maybe that's the reason why he's holding his tongue.
Sigh..it seems that the world is evolving into one where "The blind leads the blind". Didn't expect that a road-directory idiot like me can actually bring people to the right locations without any mistake in a totally unfamiliar place. Heh...high morale booster, isn't it! =D
Hey! I'm now more and more inspired to embark on a medical-related career! Especially after the "inspiring" talk from the doctor.. =) I have a noble dream: To heal people. Yep.. *aNgeL in wHite sMiLez* Shall continue to train for a stronger mental will. (Basically it's to prevent being affected by psychotic patient's unbalanced emotions and thoughts)..Hmm..hopefully I'm edging nearer to my goal. =)
Anyway, yesterday's LEP Teacher's Day Celebrations cum "Mr Tan's farewell party" were heartwarming to say the least. Yep..LEP rulez! Haha..sang touching songs like "yi fan feng shun" which almost sent everyone to a sentimental mood. Think our self-created lyrics for "hei an tian tang" are quite meaningful..at least it did earn much laughters from the audience. Despite my class's constant proclamation that LEP is "hei an"..the day's celebrations seemed to have buried all the superficiality previously present. =p Wishing him a smooth journey ahead!
Oh yah..The Simpsons' cartoon on "Animal Rights" was totally corny! kekez..*Pigs can fly!* wOo! The thing to question is not whether animals should be experimented on or otherwise..but rather whether they have the right not to suffer?
Think Mr Ng has reached the stage whereby he's a full-fledged lamer. lolx. He cracks jokes with no change in facial expression. The most comical part was when he talked about Part 2 of his maid's promiscuous sequel.
~Egotism Is Just Obesity Of The Head~ Oops..so much about obesity! .lol.
Blue is the colour of inner peace..you see a mirage of clear pure crystal-blue waters in that faraway place. :)

Still mulling over the recent Straits Times Article on Pisceans being the most prone to Schizophrenia. Haha..think there's really an element of truth in it. (We are characteristically known to be big-time daydreamers, impractical bunch of people) Sigh! Maybe that's why I should oppose this change and be a psychiatrist in future to curb this psychiatric disorder. (*Le Chatelier's Principle!?*) ErMz.. ;)
Seem to be riding the waves of the promos-blues these days. Why not just finish A levels and be done with it? School days without exams are utopian..who wouldn't want that? If only we were born in 2006..haha..reduced syllabus, H syllabus (would have been really applicable to my preferred course of study), abolishment of PW (most probably?), less teaching more learning blah. Maybe there might even be the chance of embarking onto the IB programme and wheeze through my study years! (Dreaming) Come to think of it, school life ought to be the most envious by others..especially to those who are no longer schooling. At least, you are placed in a "world" whereby harsh realities outside ain't flung at you. Wonders why there is always this urge to grow up quickly! --Grow up, but don't be in a hurry to grow up-- the saying goes.
Looking forward to next Saturday's Get-together Dinner for the Anderson Alumni! Yay! It's gonna be interesting...catching up with ex-classmates and schoolmates, teachers and friends. :) Sad to say...if given a choice, I would prefer leading a life as an Andersonian. Well..once an Andersonian, forever an Andersonian. The present doesn't really mean that much to me as compared to past memories, truthfully. I'm not sure why but the temptation of retreating back to the good old days seems so irresistable. Not that JC life is not good, but days and things seem so superficial all of a sudden. Drifting to a faraway land.

yOz! :)
It's been a tumultuous week of stifled creativity! =S Things are happening so fast that you simply don't have the time to tHiNk! *brain-dead* Realise I can't think much now.. And so the vicious cycle goes on...everyday we are fed with such overwhelming inputs of information that it's getting suffocative.. *chOkes* save me!
Anyway, today was interesting. =) Was unknowingly called down for emcee audition for MAF! Hmm..guess I screwed up the individual scenario part...nevertheless the group's "act" on Chang-E gaining weight and dancing our mass dance "Wild Wild West" to shed off the kilos seemed interesting..LOLx.
Had a totally corny Chemistry Lecture today. Well..what can you expect withMr Hilarious John Ng! =P His precious lovely Barney imbued with the ability to mete out punishment to people! How fascinating! :) Whole auditorium was bawled over with bouts of laughter! Think he's the most affable lecturer around..and mimicking Ms Tan's "more than perfect english" voice..haha. cooL! :P
Oh yes! Ge yao on this Saturday night! *wOoOo* Tay Ping Hui's the special guest! -grinZ- So far the boy-girl duet stands the higher chance of winning! (Real melodious) CheerioS! Quite impressed by Ryan's solo 2 performances...a voice worth swooning for..ha.
Hoping that the rest of the week proceeds smoothly...PW's written report is driving us mad. OkoK..there's so much to lament about. Kind of surprised to read in the papers about our e-petition to retain the college's name! Though it's a seemingly futile effort, at least it has brought to our awareness that indeed there are many others who share the same sentiments as Hwa-Chongians! *true brown last batch of Hwa Chongians!)

Hola! Happy Friday the 13th! =P
Counting down..it's less than 4 days before my China friends make their way back to their homeland..feeling the precious moments ticking away silently. At times, there's this innate fiery contradictions within the human self...contending the mere possibilities of all options of life. In spite of everything...I believe I will truly miss the whole lot of them, especially Yu Qiao. =) Really appreciative. She's truly been a very understanding partner where her selflessness is evident. Yup. Perhaps overlooking some things in life may still be the best option out. These days...everyone has been flustered, totally flanked out, troubled, worried, you name them all. Things seem to have quieten down more nowadays and we are really thankful for that. Believe I have no reason to lament about anything, I've been really fortunate, to say the least, upon hearing horrendous stories from some of them.
Life in school is really in absolute continuity! Straight after the exchange programme comes ge yao and I'll be back to busy mode again! Sigh. Life is getting crazier and crazier. But it seems the more hectic life becomes, the more emotionally-balanced a person becomes. In a sense, life is being led in a fulfilling manner. Or perhaps the extent of busi-ness determines our sense of self-worth and value.
Still mulling over what I can possibly get for her to bring back home...hmm...*pondering*.
It's a few more minutes to Brother's 19th Birthday (August 14th) ! Happy *bUrp*day! =) Many happy returns! Cheers!
If only people do not view the world through a rose-tinted glass...if only if only. (so naive that thought!)
If only people can peer through the demerits of one and not judge others simply because of an accidental wrong..if only if only.
If only people do not simply brush off responsibilities by fobbing excuses..if only if only.
If only people loosen up their tightened bones and embrace the beauty of being surrounded by invaluable friendship...if only if only.
If only that's too much to ask for.

Hello!
The past week had been rather eventful though. A good thing my partner's a relatively good-natured, easy going person who does not complain unnecessarily unlike the others. :) Really thankful for that (",). Shopping seems to be her favourite past-time though. It was unbelievable that she was willing to splurge a good $200 on a piece of cloth at The Galleria. Good thing thou brought her round Taka to get the scarf for $20. A good 90% "decrement", isn't it? ;) Believed she enjoyed circling the "Fountain Of Wealth" in numerous rounds the most. :) May wealth, luck and prosperity be with her always! CheeriOs! Fortunately I managed to persuade her not to be influenced by the dearest Landmine (XY should be vigorously nodding her head in approval) of ours who grumbles at the thought of a mere flex of muscles for a short distanced walk. Otherwise my partner would have missed such unforgettable and precious moments of her life.
Anyway, to begin with...some of us didn't manage to truly enjoy their hosting due to some reasons which thou is in no position to reveal. It seems that some had taken an apparent 360 degrees turn from their true personality back there. A significant minority made unreasonable demands on their hosts which would have been inappropriate of what a guest can ever request. Perhaps China's 1 child policy has taken a terrible plunge. Or has it not? Well..the reality has more or less speaken for itself. Though this is truly not an accurate representative of the mass.. To say the very least, there had truly been enjoyable times of course.
National Day celebrations must have been a huge eye-opener for them as one could see the nation clad in red and white. This year's NDP's fireworks were really breath-taking! =) Especially the heart-shaped ones. Hoping that the spectacular event is something that she will always remember from Singapore. Oh man..miss the Fireworks Festival!
The Offical Handover ceremony today at the Istana was truly a grand occasion. It spoke volumes of the future of Singapore..the confidence the public has been instilled with all along and a continuity of governance and diplomacy. Hoping that the new government can bring Singapore to greater heights! Read with interests the life of PM and SM. =)
Days have been looking up, to say the least. :) Cheers!
Thou just wants to be an ordinary happy and contented person. Nothing else. I really love the days when JY, Milly, WY, YX and I simply sit around and chat. =) Crapping with close friends really do wonders to free the heart from troubles and burdens!

The new week started off with the Taiwanese Students (MOE Taiwan Immersion Prog) visiting HC...the banners overhanging the announcement bridge served as a form of "fury debate"...Perhaps we are the only ones ever so sensitive to this issue. =P The Chengdu students would arrive in Singapore tomorrow around midnight. And we wonder: Why was the Chengdu welcome banner placed above that of Taiwan's? (Moreover, it's not vertically above.) Ok..it seems we've been so deprived of entertainment in school that we are resorting to this kind of small interesting talk. Is there any significance behind that seemingly inconspicuous action? PRC's "One-China Policy" and Taiwan's relentless calls for independence have since ignited sparks for more discussions.
Anyway...kind of looking forward to their arrival after the recent fuss over some immigration counter matters. :) Especially when their visit coincides with National Day! Yup..a rare and special occasion to come over! Shall get ready Yu Chao's favourite "Lays" and brand of coffee! (Think she misses them ever since she moved from Shanghai to Chengdu) =) Hopefully their 2 weeks' stay would be just as memorable..(though I seriously doubt so after screening through the programme schedule the teachers planned for them). Well..I think Singapore is not really an interesting place to stay for 2 weeks. (If you were to put yourself in their shoes). Probably a few days. Hmm..memories of the unforgettable and happy times spent in Chengdu just came flooding back! :) Wonder how Deng Xiao is getting on too. Haven't heard from her for some time. Shall start penning letters back to Chengdu and Thailand too.
Thinking back..it really feels wonderful to have friends beyond international boundaries. Indeed, exchange programmes really enhances culture and shared understanding between 2 countries. Still reminiscing the wonderful times spent with my Winitsuksa friends in Lopburi, Thailand! (Esp. my partner Parn, pat, fang, pit, benz etc!) These are the people whom you'll never forget for a lifetime. The most precious bonds in life are invariably those forged through such long distances. :)
Hopefully there are still more chances in the near future to get to know more other friends in other countries! An extensive social network of friends globally! =)

Heyo..these days have been rather mentally exhausting. Mostly busy with carnival preparations! Now that Homecoming carnival has ended...it's time to rest! Monday's a holiday! :)

Think Thursday's "Classical Renaissance 6" String Ensemble Performance at SP was quite wonderful..yep. Quite disappointed to hear from Jamie that Canon in D was played last year! Nevertheless, figaro, figaro was nice..and the closing piece was pretty ok too. =) (Except the parts when the instruments hit against one another and when the stand fell! =S) Yep..toured around SP with Jamie as "tourguide"...did not manage to sift out SP's ghost stories from him! Haha.. Think his friend and Indonesian girlfriend make an interesting couple! =P Was kind of playing "gooseberry" over there though. Just wanna say: Thanks so much Jamie..for making my day such a pleasant one. Really appreciate it too. :)

After 3h of almost continuous swirling of candy floss in circles..kind of put off by it now..=P..the mere sight of popcorns and candy floss can actually be so "gross"! (Especially seeing exact replicas of the popcorn and candy floss machines outside esplanade!...with the vendors calling out 1 packet for $1!) Despite many a times with the crystallized candy floss dripping down like snowflakes and making our hands so sticky...the process of spinning and flossing was fUn! Yup! =)

Anyway, today had been quite an enjoyable day spent at the Esplanade area with the class. Yup..it's through this kind of crapping, chatting and sharing that actually make life more interesting and tolerable. Seems like our eyes are especially tuned and sensitive to orange colour today.. ;) lolx. Okie..shall end off now..brain isn't functioning too well..so tired!

Time flickers and creeps ahead;
Sensing your presence fading away.
Memories flood my heart more often than you thought;
A tear, a smile, an understanding nod.

Trapped in an abyss of emptiness;
Till when do I find complete peace?
The world echoed back silently;
Thou shall find till eternity.

Throughout my life, I've been searching;
Searching for that glimmer of hope.
Lead my life out of uncertainty;
And happiness shall follow.

Happiness, ambiguously simple;
Many have sought to discover.
Yet none return with its true meaning;
Perhaps that was meant to be.

When the time has come;
Each seek his own dreams.
Neither cared nor turned back;
Backs vanishing in thin air.

The recent hype with regards to "Hwa Chong Institution" surrounds the school with a wavy buzz. Everyone's talking about it. Gone will be the 4 arrows shooting in all directions, bursting with the kind of passion and exuberance...sigh. Didn't expect that this year was actually the last "Evening of Drama" as the original full Hwa Chong. Seems like our batch always fall victim to guinea-pig experimentations. (1 excellent example is SPA.)
The ability to "express my artistic talent" today on the wooden blocks were great channels to de-stress.
DY seems to be changing for the better though (to say the least)...one of the first times I saw him with the belt and shirt so neatly tucked in! Hmm..people do "change" after all. :)

Experienced a peculiar sense of  "detachness" from a once-so-close friend these days. Could vaguely sense the ever-widening gap between us..Nowadays, it seems so difficult to actually strike up a conversation with her. It feels terribly bitter inside when things seem "so near...yet so far". Can only hope that things get better. Yup.
Glad that moods were lightened during the "sessions" with the CS people. =) Really appreciate Jinx, KL and JY's presence. Thanks so much. *Brightened my day*. Sometimes it seems...the less close the friends...the less burdens you feel piling up in your heart...and the more heartily you share your inner thoughts and feelings. At least there is this innate awareness that this is the person whom you can confide in without him or her criticizing too much. Wonder where I can seek solace in. Too much pent-up thoughts that can only be kept to the inner-self where "fidelity of information will always be restored".
